In this week’s podcast, we discuss the dangers of using soy infant formula. Most people believe that soy is a “health” food. That isn’t the case! Soy, no matter how you slice it, is not a health food. Actually, there is nothing healthy about it. The carbohydrates are indigestible by our body, causing bloating and gas, the protein is incomplete and of overall poor quality, and the fat is predominately the pro inflammatory omega 6 fat linoleic acid, which has been linked to all the diseases of western civilization like heart disease, cancer and diabetes. 

In the case of infant formula, soy is so lacking in any nutrients that all the vitamins and minerals need to be added after manufacturing the product in the form of supplements. Food manufacturers have to do this because soy is so high in various anti nutrients that it inhibits our body’s ability to properly absorb any vitamins and minerals that are present in soy.

Soy should never be eaten in my opinion! Soy is a natural fertilizer and it should stay in the field where it belongs, not in your kitchen!
