In this week’s podcast, we discuss gluconeogenesis. Gluconeogenesis is how our body creates new sugar. It’s a common myth that eating protein in excess will lead to an increase in gluconeogenesis. However, this is not the case. Gluconeogenesis is demand-driven (hormones), not substrate-driven (amino acids.) So don’t worry my fellow gym bros, feel free to eat all the protein you want. If you’re interested to learn more about protein metabolism and gluconeogenesis, check out this week’s podcast.
