My name is Deserae Borras and I am 30 years old. As an adolescent and young adult, I had always maintained a slim, yet average sized frame, even after I gave birth to my daughter. My diet wasn’t horrible, but it wasn’t what society would call “healthy” either (full of fruit and veggies). When I turned 28, I noticed my jeans getting tighter and it was obvious I gained a few pounds in my lower body. I wasn’t completely opposed to the extra pounds until I started seeing myself in photos and noticed my face and overall frame was more full. When I couldn’t fit into my favorite pieces of clothing, I knew I had to make a change. People made comments about my extra 10-15lbs being “happy weight,” but i wasn’t happy with it at all. I was bloated all the time, had back pain and was always tired. Never once did I even consider my diet playing a factor as to how I was feeling. I began juice cleanses and also began incorporating only lean meats to my diet, thinking I would eventually shed the extra pounds. The juice cleanses were only temporary weight loss and the lean meats mixed with carbs and sugars didn’t benefit me at all. Once spring 2018 came, I knew I had to do something to shed the pounds quickly, safely and permanently because I was getting married in August 2018.
When I initially spoke with Tyson at TNT Wellness and Nutrition about my struggle and he told me about keto, I didn’t believe him and thought “how can you loose weight off of eating steak, bacon and minimal veggies and fruits?” Months later, I reached back out to TNT and officially started my journey. I started off at 167lbs in June and by August, I ranged between 151-153. Not only am I able to fit in a size 4 and feel healthier and more comfortable overall, but I don’t have pain anymore. At the beginning of June before starting, my doctor and I talked about the possibility of a breast reduction because she could see my bad posture and could tell I had a lot of back pain (something I’ve struggled with over the past 5 years.) Since I started keto and dropped the extra weight, I haven’t had any neck, shoulder, or back pain. As of today, I wouldn’t even consider a reduction if the conversation came up again with my doctor.
If it weren’t for Tom and Tyson and their daily coaching, I would not look or feel how I do. To anyone looking to not only loose weight but feel good overall, I would highly recommend working with them. Now that I see how well my body responds to certain foods with a bit of fitness, I have even bigger goals for it. Thank you so much TNT.
