You are currently viewing AOW #3 Nuts and Seeds Causing Kidney Damage

For this week’s article of the week, we discuss a study that outlines someone damaging their kidneys from eating a diet high in nuts and seeds.

This may seem far fetched, but nuts and seeds are very high in an anti-nutrient known as oxalates. These particular anti-nutrients are particularly hard on our kidneys because they bind to calcium in our blood supply and form sharp jagged crystals that harm our kidneys as our body tries to expel them in our urine.

To learn more about the harmful effects of oxalates and why you might want to eat less nuts and seeds, listen to this week’s podcast.
