My name is Alma Dunn. I have always dealt with weight problems most of my life. In the 1970s, I started the Atkins diet. It was the best diet ever. But then doctors and scientists said it was bad for your health. I wish I had never listen to them and stayed on the diet.
Now I am 74+ years old. Five years ago after losing my husband, I decided that it is time to do something about my weight. At 5’2 and 198 pounds, I begin my journey to get as fit as I could. I am the oldest to survive of my known ancestors. I want to make sure to get to see all of my great grandchildren. In 2017, I started with keto and lost 45 pounds. I stayed around 165 for a couple of years. In 2020, I started the carnivore diet and lost another 20 pounds over the next two years.
Then I heard about Tyson in early 2021, but he was not available. I struggled until November of 2021 and Tyson was now my coach.
Tyson took on the challenge of getting this old body strong again. It was quite the challenge. LOL! My weight started at 139 and in the first three months, I was lifting 12 to 15 pounds and weight training 2 to 4 times a week. Sometimes it was hard to handle. I had a lot of issues medical wise – permanent ulcer on ankle, kidney disease, cancer, arthritis, gout, back pain, just to name a few.
I found strength I didn’t know I had. I am now at 131 pounds and only 6 pounds away from my goal. But I believe 131 is still a very good number. It has been almost a year with Tyson. I am sorry it has come to an end. If you were looking for a coach with heart, compassion, but tough and knowledgeable in health and fitness, I highly recommend Tyson, with his #1 rule: complete honesty!!
Thank you Tyson for all your help and science based information. I have kept all my notes to return to in case I start to fall. Best wishes to you and your family. Take good care of that little one.
